Peace Oat — Balm to Milk Cleanser

We oat to talk about cleansing. 

More specifically, this softly oat-scented (you will get a whiff of the soft oat-y smell when you incorporate a bit of water into the balm you've scooped out) cleanser that doesn't leave your skin feeling stripped of important moisture. Not even when you're using it to remove makeup. 

Colloidal Oatmeal: "Research tells us that the types of antioxidants (avenathramides) found in oats and colloidal oatmeal may help soothe skin. Colloidal Oatmeal also has a high concentration of beta-glucan and starches. This means it has water-binding properties and works well as an effective skin protectant."

 

Kaolin: "a naturally occurring clay mineral. Its benefits are said to include, binding sebum, removing excess oil, mattifying, and drawing out impurities. Please note that while its absorbent properties are helpful for those with oily skin, it can be drying for other skin types."

• Your Ritual: Morning or night, scoop out a small amount and apply to dry skin. Using your fingertips, gently massage the balm onto skin for about 30 seconds. At this stage, the balm will transform into a nourishing oil. Add water and continue massaging skin. Here, the water will emulsify the oil base, creating a rich, creamy milk cleanser. Continue rinsing to remove all traces of the cleansing balm. Gently pat skin dry.
