Eladi Envy Face Mask (limited edition)
While all skincare counts as self-care, face masks really have that TLC appeal. For skin that is envied and not envious, we created Eladi Envy. This herbal powder face mask is a celebration of a group of plants commonly used in Ayurvedic formulations. While the original Eladi Churnam ayurvedic powder mix is made up of well-known Indian spices (find the full list below) weβve added other plants that complement the effects it has on the skin.
Sidr Leaves
Sidr is known as Somalia's best-kept skincare secret, and its soothing properties make it beneficial for sensitive skin types. Sidr Powder, commonly referred to as Gob Tree Powder, is an excellent cleansing powder that also gently exfoliates, moisturizes, and conditions the skin. The beauty of Sidr lies not only in its cleansing properties but also in its rich history. It has long been used by East African women for its gentle exfoliating properties and by nomadic families as a soap-free cleanser (thanks to its high saponin content and natural foaming ability).
Kuppaimeni Leaves
Kuppaimeni (Indian copperleaf) is the Tamil word for the herb Acalypha Indica. It has been found to have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties when applied topically. In skincare, it is used to polish, soften, and brighten the skin, as well as help alleviate inflammation caused by blemishes.
White Turmeric
This cream-coloured variety of wild turmeric (white turmeric (a.k.a) Poolan kizhangu) from Kerala is shade-dried and ground to a fine powder. White turmeric does not stain the skin and can helpΒ target hyperpigmentation and illuminate your complexion. It is rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties. Compounds in white turmeric that can may prevent inflammation caused by UVB rays include curcumin and azulene.
Rose Petals
A natural and versatile ingredient, rose petal powder has been used in skincare for centuries. The natural anti-inflammatory properties of roses can help soothe irritated skin and reduce redness. Rose petal powder has also been helpful with regulating oil production and reducing the appearance of breakouts. It also acts as a gentle exfoliant, sloughing off dead skin cells, which in turn leaves the skin looking brighter and refreshed.
Whether you want to wake up with glowing skin or prep your skin for a night out, starting with a clean canvas is always a good idea. After all, face masks are a key element in most professional spa treatments for a reason: they can quickly infuse concentrated ingredients into skin to address a host of concerns and deliver just about any benefit your skin could need.
